Position Summary

We are seeking a full-time Technical Product Engineer to join our New York office.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both building software and making practical product decisions. The Product Engineer will work closely with leadership to design, build, and launch digital products that support and extend First Cover’s existing business operations.

This is a hands-on execution role, not coordination-only project management, and not purely large-scale backend architecture. You will be expected to independently ship functional products and iterate based on real-world feedback.

Key Responsibilities

Product Development

• Build and deploy web-based applications, internal tools, and AI-supported workflows
• Implement core functionality using modern development frameworks
• Integrate third-party services and APIs
• Ensure code is clean, practical, and maintainable

• Deploy applications into live production environments

Product & Business Collaboration

• Work directly with leadership and business teams to clarify evolving requirements
• Translate business ideas into structured technical implementation plans
• Identify edge cases and ensure functional stability before release
• Balance speed, usability, and technical practicality

Validation & Iteration

• Implement analytics tracking and monitor key product metrics
• Write SQL queries to analyze product usage and operational data
• Improve onboarding, internal workflows, and conversion flows where applicable
• Iterate quickly based on customer feedback and usage data

Candidate Qualifications

• 3–6 years of experience building and shipping digital products
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., JavaScript, Python, etc.)
• Strong practical web development experience

• Ability to write SQL to analyze product data

• Bilingual in Mandarin and English (professional fluency required)
• Willing to work onsite in Manhattan 5 days/week

Preferred Qualifications

• Startup or small-team experience
• Experience building side projects or independent MVPs
• Comfortable working with evolving product requirements
• Familiarity with analytics tools (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.)
• Experience using AI development tools to accelerate delivery

Work Environment

• On-site in Manhattan (5 days/week)
