About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to play a critical role in advancing our data platform and analytics capabilities. This is a top-priority hire with direct visibility to leadership due to its impact on operational performance, safety, and strategic decision-making.
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will design, build, and optimize scalable data solutions that power mission-critical insights across aviation and healthcare operations. You will work across the full data stack—from backend architecture to front-end visualization—enabling agile, high-impact analytics. You will also partner closely with stakeholders, mentor fellow engineers, and help shape how data is delivered, trusted, and used end-to-end.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and optimize scalable data pipelines and ELT workflows within Snowflake
- Build and maintain efficient data models to support agile analytics and reporting
- Develop and enhance Power BI dashboards for business stakeholders
- Implement automated monitoring and performance optimization across the data pipeline
- Leverage Snowflake features (including DBT and notebooks) to modernize the data ecosystem
- Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver predictive analytics and machine learning solutions
- Integrate complex data sources (e.g., safety, maintenance, weather) to drive operational insights
- Support initiatives aimed at improving flight readiness, safety outcomes, and resource optimization
- Mentor engineers and champion data quality, trust, and best practices end-to-end

Required Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Snowflake, including data modeling, performance tuning, and working within Snowflake's cloud data platform (required)
- Experience with DBT and modern ELT frameworks
- Advanced proficiency in Power BI for data visualization
- Solid experience in predictive analytics and/or machine learning
- Experience working within Azure-based data environments (not AWS)
- Proven ability to work across both data engineering and analytics layers
- Strong understanding of scalable data modeling and performance optimization
- Strong communication skills and experience working cross-functionally with stakeholders
