2. About the Opportunity:
The Network Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of the organization’s networking systems. This role focuses on minimizing downtime, troubleshooting complex issues, and implementing automation to improve operational efficiency. The position supports critical infrastructure including firewalls, enterprise servers, and L2/L3 networking. The Network Engineer collaborates across teams to align technical initiatives with business goals and helps maintain high availability through on-call support and proactive capacity planning. This role is vital for sustaining secure, scalable, and stable network operations.
3. Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain site reliability processes for network systems
• Enhance monitoring and alert systems for early issue detection
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and escalate networking service-impacting issues
• Configure, manage, and monitor network infrastructure including servers and firewalls
• Automate repetitive tasks to improve operational efficiency
• Analyze network performance and contribute to capacity planning
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on networking initiatives
• Create and maintain documentation for systems and procedures
• Participate in on-call rotations for critical network support

4. Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, networking, or related field preferred but not required
• 5+ years of experience in networking or site reliability engineering
• Proficient in troubleshooting complex networking and system issues
• Skilled in managing enterprise servers, L2/L3 networking, and firewalls
• Hands-on experience with FortiGate firewalls including configuration and rule management
• Ability to design and implement firewall policies
• Familiarity with FortiGate VPNs, traffic shaping, and intrusion prevention
• Experience with Python, Docker/container management, Git/GitHub, and scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python)
• Knowledge of Linux server maintenance and interface management (IPs, VLANs)
• Proficiency with iptables or nftables and permissions management
• Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or Salt
• Ability to work with non-technical teams to develop aligned technical solutions
• Support Development and QA teams with software installation and configuration
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Interest and ability to mentor team members
• Proficiency with MS Office, web conferencing, and internal communication tools
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:

• The base salary for this position is $115,000 - $140,000 annually, determined by the candidate’s level, skills, qualifications, and experience along with position requirements and financial plans
• Compensation is geography-independent within the U.S.
