Job Description
At PurpleMerit, great design isn’t decoration it’s the difference between tools people tolerate and products they love.
We’re looking for a Product Designer who can move from user insights → clear flows → polished UI, and partner closely with engineering to ship designs that are actually buildable. If you often look at complex products and think, “This should feel effortless,” you’ll fit right in.
We expect you to actively use AI in your design workflow to speed up research synthesis, generate UX writing options, and explore variations faster. Comfort with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) is a strong plus, as long as you can validate decisions with real user needs and product data.
The Role
Title: Product Designer (UI/UX Designer)
Experience: 2+ years (portfolio required)
Location: Remote

Responsibilities
- User Research & Journey Mapping: Run interviews, identify pain points, create personas/journeys, and define the “why” before the “how.”
- UX Flows, Wireframes & Prototypes: Create low → high-fidelity designs and interactive prototypes in Figma.
- Design System & Components: Build and maintain a scalable design system (tokens, components, variants, documentation).
- UI & Visual Quality: Ensure the product looks modern, trustworthy, and consistent across screens and platforms.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work tightly with PMs + engineers to ensure feasibility, clarity, and pixel-perfect execution.
You’re a strong fit if you…
- Think in workflows and outcomes, not just screens.
- Are confident with Figma Auto-Layout, components, variants, constraints, and clean file structure.
- Can explain your decisions using user needs + business impact (not just aesthetics).
- Are comfortable in a startup pace: iterate fast, validate, ship, repeat.
