We are partnering with a Tier-1 global hedge fund to hire a Low-Level Linux Engineer with strong Python expertise to join their high-performance engineering team in Sydney.

This is a mission-critical role focused on building and maintaining ultra-reliable, low-latency infrastructure that underpins global trading systems.

🧠 What You’ll Be Doing

• Develop and optimise low-level Linux systems for high-performance trading environments
• Build robust, scalable tooling and services using Python
• Work closely with trading and infrastructure teams to ensure maximum system reliability and uptime
• Diagnose and resolve complex production issues across Linux, networking, and distributed systems

🔧 What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years’ experience in software engineering/systems engineering within financial services (hedge fund, trading firm, investment bank)

• Strong expertise in Linux internals (kernel, memory, processes, networking, performance tuning)
• Advanced Python programming skills (production-grade systems, not scripting)
• Experience with low-latency / high-performance systems
• Solid understanding of networking, concurrency, and distributed systems
• Proven track record in production reliability/incident management
