Location: Reykjavík
CCP Games is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our data platform team in Reykjavík.
You’ll work on the core infrastructure that powers analytics, experimentation, and AI-driven systems across CCP. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building reliable, scalable data systems used directly by developers, analysts, and machine learning workflows.
A key part of the role is treating data infrastructure as a product for internal teams. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across the company to make data accessible, trustworthy, and easy to use, helping teams move faster and make better decisions. You’ll be part of a collaborative team working at the intersection of data, infrastructure, and game development, shaping how data flows through CCP’s ecosystem.
The position is based in Reykjavík. Relocation support is available for the right candidate.
Your Tasks
- Design, build, and operate data pipelines for batch and real-time processing
- Develop and maintain core data platform components and shared infrastructure
- Build and improve data services and tooling used by teams across CCP
- Ensure reliability, performance, and observability of data systems
- Work closely with developers, analysts, scientists, and other stakeholders to deliver useful data solutions
- Improve the accessibility, usability, and quality of data across the company
- Continuously improve developer experience and data tooling
- Contribute to best practices in data engineering, testing, and deployment

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering or backend/data platform development
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with large-scale data systems
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g. Python, C#)
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms. Azure or similar platforms AWS, GCP, etc.
- Experience building and maintaining data pipelines (batch and/or streaming)
- Solid understanding of distributed systems and data infrastructure concepts
- A customer-focused mindset with the ability to build solutions for a wide range of internal users
- Comfortable using AI tools to improve development speed and effectiveness
