EngageCX is a vertically integrated customer acquisition and engagement partner for the health insurance market. We help carriers, brokers, and other healthcare organizations grow efficiently—spanning customer acquisition, sales/distribution, contact center operations, and customer care and retention, using a combination of people, process, and technology.
EngageCX is seeking an ambitious, creative-minded, and data-driven Director of Digital Marketing to lead our internal digital marketing efforts for our Marketing Solutions (Lead Generation) business. Reporting to the COO, this role will own strategy and execution across Medicare insurance and adjacent markets (Final Expense, U65, etc.)—building a durable, compliant, and scalable growth engine, and laying the foundation for EngageCX’s long-term internal media strategy.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee digital marketing strategy and execution of Medicare and other related verticals within EngageCX’s portfolio, managing a $5-$10M+ annual marketing budget to drive new customers within our unit economic targets.
- Own and optimize full-funnel performance from ad click through sale/submission (not just CTR/CPL), including cost per call, cost per opportunity, and cost per submission. Use call center dispositions to further refine value props and messaging. Demonstrate/develop significant knowledge of the Medicare space to determine core audience targets and value propositions for advertising.Â
- Lead structured experimentation: market research, “hook” testing, creative testing, and landing page/funnel testing with a disciplined test roadmap and clear learning agenda.
- Create strategic creative briefs and partner with external and internal creative resources to deliver compelling ad copy, visual assets, and landing pages for use in all digital campaigns.
- Help develop reporting and advanced analytics requirements to ensure transparency and visibility into marketing performance and regularly communicate marketing performance results to internal executive stakeholders.
- Own forecasting and financial management: budget planning, pacing, variance analysis, and corrective action plans.
- Partner with internal and external resources to ensure that advertising content is delivered with proper compliance controls that adhere to regulations, as well as business practices and policies.
- Recruit, train, and lead additional hires to rapidly grow the internal marketing team.

Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field required, advanced degree preferred.
- 7-10+ years of experience in direct response, performance-based digital advertising, ideally in insurance, regulated consumer financial/health products, or high-volume lead generation.
- Proven track record managing $5–$10M+ in annual spend with clear accountability to business outcomes (not just platform KPIs).
- Deep expertise in operating and optimizing campaigns across core acquisition channels (Google, Meta, Microsoft/Bing). Experience with TikTok, native (Taboola/Outbrain), and/or marketplaces (e.g., MediaAlpha) is a strong plus.
- Advanced in Microsoft Excel, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and AB testing tools like Optimizely or VWO. Experience with CRM and telephony tools is a plus.
- Proven track record in building and operating a high-velocity creative testing engine, with rigorous measurement and clear decision rules. Able to translate insights into rapid iteration across angles, hooks, formats, and landing page variants while maintaining performance and comp
- Experience integrating marketing performance with downstream systems (CRM, call tracking, telephony/contact center tooling) and using offline conversion feedback loops to improve bidding/targeting.
- Demonstrated ability to balance performance with compliance: experience partnering with Compliance/Legal and maintaining disciplined creative approval, consent/recordkeeping, and claim-substantiation workflows.
- People leadership experience (mentorship or direct management). Comfortable hiring and developing a small team over time.
- High ownership, resilience, and comfort with ambiguity. This role will build and formalize internal media capabilities as an early leader of the function.

Compensation Package
- Base salary: $165k-$185k annually
- Bonus eligible
