Job Description
Job Title Atlassian Architect/Jira Architect
Duration Long term contract
Location Bellevue, WA (Hybrid)
Day 1 Onsite in Bellevue, WA (Relocation is fine)
Role Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Atlassian Solutions Architect to design, implement, and scale a centralized enterprise intake and portfolio management platform using Atlassian Cloud (Jira, Jira Align, Advanced Roadmaps, Forge, and Automation).
This role will own the end-to-end architecture for a parent–child intake and delivery workflow that integrates multiple Jira projects across engineering organizations, enabling executive-level visibility, prioritization, and progress reporting for Network Automation and Service Enablement initiatives.
The ideal candidate has deep experience translating VP and executive requirements into scalable Jira portfolio solutions and dashboards and has successfully delivered enterprise-wide Atlassian implementations.
Key Responsibilities
- Enterprise Intake & Workflow Architecture
- Design and implement a centralized intake portal for all Network Automation and Service Enablement requests (software engineering, AI/ML, autonomous networking).
- Architect parent–child / portfolio-to-delivery project relationships across multiple Jira projects.
- Standardize intake, triage, prioritization, and execution workflows across heterogeneous engineering teams.
- Define and implement governance models for intake lifecycle management (idea → intake → approval → delivery → closure).
- Portfolio & Executive-Level Reporting
- Build VP and executive dashboards that provide real-time visibility into:
- Intake volume and trends
- Strategic alignment
- Delivery progress and health
- Cross-team dependencies
- Capacity vs demand
- Design portfolio-level KPIs and metrics aligned to business outcomes, not just Jira activity.
- Implement roll-up reporting across multiple teams, programs, and initiatives.
- Atlassian Platform Engineering
- Lead architecture and configuration of:
- Jira Software (Cloud)
- Jira Service Management (for intake where applicable)
- Advanced Roadmaps / Jira Roadmaps
- Jira Align (if applicable for strategy-to-execution alignment)
- Develop custom solutions using Atlassian Forge where native Jira capabilities are insufficient.
- Implement Atlassian Automation rules to streamline intake, status transitions, reporting updates, and executive notifications.
- Stakeholder & Requirements Leadership
- Partner with VPs, Directors, Product Owners, Engineering Leaders, and Operations teams to translate business needs into Jira solutions.
- Facilitate requirements workshops with executive and senior engineering stakeholders.
- Serve as the trusted Atlassian advisor for portfolio management and enterprise workflows.
- Scalability, Governance & Best Practices
- Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and compliant with enterprise standards.
- Define best practices for Jira project configuration, permissions, schemas, and data hygiene.
- Provide documentation, training, and enablement for administrators and end users.
