Job Description
About Learn Awesome
Learn Awesome is an Australian eLearning and learning design agency. We build training that changes behaviour, not training that ticks a compliance box and gets forgotten. Our clients include some of Australia's biggest and most impactful companies.
We are a small, senior team. Everyone here does real work. There are no account managers insulating clients from the people doing the thinking. We have a founder who brings in the work, a tight delivery team that executes it, and a clear expectation that both ends of that equation hold.
Everything we build is filtered through our ART framework: Attention, Respect and Trust. We protect the learner's attention budget. We make training worth the ask.
The role
Steve sells the work. You make sure clients get what they paid for.
This is the operational spine of the agency. You sit between the founder and the delivery team, owning each project from handover to sign-off. You manage the client relationship throughout delivery, keep the team on track, QA output before it leaves the building, and make sure nothing falls through a gap.
You are not the sole storyboard writer. We have built AI-assisted tools that handle a significant portion of that production. What you need is a strong enough instructional design background to review that output critically, identify when the design logic is wrong, and step in with precision when a project demands human judgement. The craft matters because you cannot manage what you cannot assess.
This is not a role for someone looking for a quiet, steady job. We are a growing agency with new products, new systems and new client work coming in consistently. You will need to be across every active project, communicating without being prompted, and actively improving how the team operates rather than maintaining the status quo.
What you own
Project delivery end to end
•    Receive project briefs from Steve and build the delivery pipeline in ClickUp
•    Set up and maintain timelines, milestones and task assignments for each project
•    Track progress across all active work and flag risks before they escalate
•    Ensure every project lands on time, on scope and at the standard the client was sold
Client communication throughout the delivery lifecycle
•    Own all client communication once a project moves into delivery
•    Send proactive updates: clients should not need to ask where things are
•    Run showcase sessions: presenting work in progress, walking through the output and collecting structured feedback
•    Translate ambiguous or messy client feedback into clear, actionable briefs for the team
•    Handle scope conversations professionally when requests drift beyond what was agreed
Team coordination and quality control
Interested in remote work opportunities in Graphic Design & Art? Discover Graphic Design & Art Remote Jobs featuring exclusive positions from top companies that offer flexible work arrangements.
•    Allocate work across designers and developers based on capacity, skill and project priority
•    Review all deliverables before they go to a client: storyboards, course builds, scripts, QA passes
•    Brief the team clearly so rework is the exception, not the rhythm
•    Create the conditions for the team to do their best work
Instructional design review and quality oversight
•    Review AI-assisted storyboard outputs against the ART framework and Learn Awesome standards
•    Identify gaps in learning design logic, structure, tone and learner experience
•    Contribute to concept design on complex or strategic projects where the stakes are high
•    Coach the team on ID quality without needing to write everything yourself
Operational improvement
•    Identify and fix gaps in how projects run, not just report on them
•    Contribute to the development of Learn Awesome's productised service library
•    Build the systems, templates and processes that let the agency grow without losing quality
What you bring
•    A solid background in instructional or learning design. You understand what makes learning work and can recognise when it does not. You do not need to be a full-time storyboard writer but you need to be able to judge quality with authority.
•    Demonstrated project management experience in an agency, consultancy or distributed team. You have owned timelines, managed client relationships and delivered under real pressure.
•    Exceptional written and verbal English. Client communication at a professional standard is not negotiable.
•    Confidence facilitating client-facing sessions including showcases, feedback calls and milestone check-ins. You can present work, handle difficult feedback and keep a client relationship warm and functional.
•    Fluency with ClickUp or a comparable project management platform. You know how to build and maintain a project space the whole team actually uses.
•    A proactive communication style. You update before being asked. You flag issues when they are small. Steve should never have to chase you for a project status.
•    Familiarity with Articulate Rise and/or Storyline. You are reviewing and QA-ing builds, not necessarily building everything yourself.
•    The ability to operate with genuine autonomy. This role comes with real ownership. You need to be able to run with it.

•    Experience working with Australian corporate clients or in an Australian agency context
•    Familiarity with AI-assisted eLearning production workflows
•    Experience facilitating client discovery sessions or design workshops
•    Background in building productised learning offers or content libraries
The scenario question
Applications without an answer to this question will not be reviewed.
A hospitality group GM gets in touch with Learn Awesome. She manages a group of high-pressure restaurant teams and has noticed a real wellbeing and burnout problem across her staff. She wants to build a suite of learning modules to help. She has a rough budget, a genuine problem and no clear picture of what she actually needs built.
How would you approach this engagement from first conversation through to delivery? Walk us through your thinking.
We are not looking for the right answer. We are looking for how you think: whether you ask the right questions before jumping to solutions, how you balance what the client wants with what learners actually need, and whether your instincts as both a designer and a delivery person come through. Keep it to one page.
How we work
We are a remote team operating across Australia and the Philippines. Communication is primarily async with scheduled video check-ins. We use ClickUp for all project management and Google Workspace for collaboration.
You will report directly to Steve. The working relationship functions when both sides communicate clearly, raise issues early and treat each other as professionals. That expectation goes both ways.
We move fast and hold high standards. If you need significant hand-holding to operate this role will not suit you. If you thrive with genuine ownership and clear outcomes it will.
What success looks like at 90 days
•    All active projects are running in ClickUp with clean structure, live status and clear next actions
•    Clients are receiving proactive updates and not chasing for information
•    Steve is not following up on project status because he does not need to
•    The delivery team has clear briefs, timely feedback and confidence in the QA process
•    You have identified at least one operational gap and proposed how to address it
Be sure to answer the scenario question in your application. Attach relevant experience. Salary is negotiable based on experience starting at 75k php per month.
