About The Role

At Visana Health, the Associate UX Designer plays an important role in shaping the patient and provider experience across our digital products.

You will work closely with product, engineering, and clinical teams to design intuitive and accessible user experiences that support personalized care. This role is ideal for someone early in their UX career who wants to grow their design skills while contributing to meaningful healthcare solutions.

You will participate in research, design workflows and prototypes, and help iterate on product features based on real patient and provider feedback. Your work will directly influence how members access care, communicate with clinicians, and navigate their healthcare journey.

Key Responsibilities/Focus Areas

User Experience Design

• Design wireframes, prototypes, and user flows for web and mobile applications.
• Translate user needs and product requirements into clear and intuitive interface designs.
• Support the creation and refinement of design solutions that improve usability and patient engagement.
  
  

Cross Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with product managers, engineers, clinicians, and other stakeholders to understand goals and user needs.
• Contribute design ideas and feedback during product planning and development.
• Communicate design decisions clearly and collaborate effectively with remote teams.
  
  

User Research and Testing

• Participate in user research activities including interviews, surveys, and usability testing.
• Analyze feedback and behavioral data to identify friction points in the user experience.
• Iterate on designs based on insights from research and product analytics.

Design Quality and Consistency

• Help maintain design consistency across Visana’s digital products.
• Follow established design systems and accessibility guidelines.
• Ensure interfaces are easy to understand and accessible to diverse patient populations.
  
  

Continuous Learning and Improvement

• Stay current on UX trends, best practices, emerging design tools, and evolving AI technologies that support design, research, and workflow efficiency.
• Bring fresh ideas that improve the usability and clarity of Visana’s patient experience.
• Develop familiarity with new AI-assisted tools and platforms that can enhance prototyping, research synthesis, and overall product design processes.

Requirements

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human Computer Interaction, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• A website portfolio demonstrating UX design work with at least three detailed case studies that show problem definition, design process, and outcomes.
• 2 to 5 years of professional UX or UI design experience. Internship experience may be considered depending on scope of work.
• Proficiency with design tools such as Figma
• Strong understanding of user centered design principles.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a remote and cross functional environment.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Interest in healthcare and improving digital patient experiences.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on healthcare or health technology products.
• Familiarity with remote collaboration tools such as Slack and Google Meet.
• Experience supporting usability testing or user research activities.
• Experience working in Webflow or similar website platforms
