Position Overview

We are hiring a Senior Director, Marketing to own Spiro's content strategy and distribution across Brand and Brand Activation & Events (BAE).

Reporting to the VP of Marketing, this role is responsible for getting Spiro's content in front of the right audiences through digital channels such as organic social, paid media, and PR and earned media. This person sets the strategy and manages execution through direct reports across content, operations, and external agency partners.

Responsibilities

Organic Social, Content & PR

  • Oversee organic social media across platforms, ensuring consistent brand presence and audience engagement
  • Oversee content production including social posts, case studies, thought leadership, and editorial content
  • Drive PR and earned media efforts including editorial pitching, press relationships, and securing trade/industry coverage
  • Develop and place thought leadership content on behalf of Spiro’s senior leaders
  • Align organic, earned, and paid efforts so content has a clear path from creation through amplification

Paid Media & Distribution

  • Plan, execute, and optimize paid campaigns across LinkedIn, Google Ads, and trade/industry publications
  • Manage paid media budget allocation with accountability for spend efficiency and ROI
  • Develop audience targeting, creative testing, and bidding strategies
  • Negotiate and manage trade publication media buys, including sponsorship packages and digital placements
  • Direct agency partners on paid media execution and hold them accountable to performance targets

Website & Digital

  • Own Spiro’s website: CMS management, SEO, site performance, and conversion optimization
  • Manage website updates, landing pages, and campaign-specific digital experiences
  • Monitor site analytics and translate data into content and UX improvements

Team & Agency Management

  • Manage and develop direct reports across content, social media, and marketing operations
  • Manage external agency partners supporting paid media, PR, and digital execution
  • Set priorities and ensure the content pipeline supports marketing and sales objectives
  • Ensure marketing operations — including budgets, vendor coordination, and reporting — run cleanly and support the broader marketing function

Qualifications

  • 8–10+ years in B2B marketing with deep experience in content strategy, distribution, and paid digital media
  • Hands-on proficiency with LinkedIn Campaign Manager, Google Ads, and trade/industry media buying
  • Strong understanding of organic social strategy and content marketing in a B2B environment
  • Experience with PR, media relations, and editorial strategy — pitching stories, managing press relationships, securing earned media
  • Working knowledge of CMS platforms, SEO, and web analytics (GA4 or similar)
  • Experience managing internal teams and external agency partners
  • Ability to connect marketing activity to pipeline and revenue outcomes
  • Experiential marketing, events, or agency experience preferred

  • By 30 days: understand team dynamics, agency relationships, and current campaign performance across all channels
  • By 60 days: actively managing paid campaigns and organic/PR strategy with clear optimization plans in place
  • By 90 days: paid campaigns running, optimized, and tied to pipeline influence; organic social consistent and on-brand; earned media efforts producing regular placements; agency partners delivering against clear briefs with measurable accountability
