Job Description


Now Hiring: IT Service Engineer

Location: Ellendale, ND

Duration: 9+ Months (Extension Possible | Contract-to-Hire Opportunity)

Work Hours: Monday–Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM (Consistent shift; potential off-hours)


Relocation is Acceptable if you're Not local.


On-Call: Yes

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Service Engineer with strong hands-on experience in server hardware (wiring & components). This role involves troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and installation of enterprise server systems at customer sites.


Note: This position requires heavy lifting and physical work.


Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve server issues with guidance from support teams
  • Execute plans provided by Domain Engineers (L3 support)
  • Perform hardware tasks: reseating, swapping, and replacing server components
  • Conduct diagnostics, testing, and validation of servers
  • Upgrade firmware as needed
  • Manage parts inventory (locker & spare parts logistics)
  • Document service activities, logs, and reports accurately


Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED (Associate Degree/Certifications preferred)
  • 3–6+ years of relevant experience

Mandatory: Experience working on server hardware (CPU, memory, power supplies, GPUs, etc.)

  • Experience with server builds, swaps, and deployments
  • Familiarity with Linux environments
  • Experience building PCs
  • Strong documentation skills


Preferred Skills

  • Experience with water-cooled servers (nice to have)
  • Ability to follow structured Plans of Action (POA)
  • Continuous learning mindset and up-to-date technical knowledge
