Job Description

Origin Mining Company (“OMC”) is a distinguished copper mining company that owns the open-pit Mineral Park copper and molybdenum mine in Kingman, Arizona. Our mission is to extract copper and molybdenum resources in a sustainable manner while making a positive impact on the local economy by creating high-quality employment. OMC is dedicated to operating with integrity and transparency. We are currently operating hydromet operations and are scheduled to restart the concentrator operations at the Mineral Park Mine and meet the growing global demand for copper.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Recruiter with a strong background in the mining industry to join our team. In this role, you will lead full-cycle recruitment efforts for a wide range of technical, operational, and corporate roles, supporting both site-based and corporate functions.

As a trusted partner to hiring managers, you will bring deep knowledge of mining talent markets, workforce planning, and specialized sourcing strategies. Your ability to identify and engage hard-to-find talent, while delivering an exceptional candidate experience, will be key to supporting our operational success and growth.

This role is posted in Reno, NV; however, candidates based near Kingman, AZ will be expected to work on-site at our mine there approximately three days per week.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment for roles across mining operations, including technical (e.g., geologists, engineers), skilled trades, heavy equipment operators, and corporate functions.

  • Partner closely with hiring managers and site leadership to understand workforce needs, project timelines, and skill requirements.

  • Develop and execute targeted sourcing strategies for niche and high-demand mining roles, including camp-based and remote positions.

  • Build and maintain robust talent pipelines through proactive sourcing, industry networking, referrals, and engagement with mining associations and communities.

  • Conduct thorough candidate screening, behavioral interviews, and assessments to evaluate qualifications, safety mindset, and cultural alignment.

  • Provide market insights on talent availability, compensation trends, and competitor activity within the mining sector.

  • Manage recruitment metrics (time-to-fill, quality of hire, pipeline health) and provide data-driven recommendations to improve hiring outcomes.

  • Ensure a high-quality candidate experience, particularly for candidates relocating or transitioning to remote/site-based roles.

  • Support employer branding initiatives tailored to the mining workforce, including outreach to Indigenous communities, local talent, and early-career programs.

  • Collaborate with HR and operations to facilitate efficient onboarding, including compliance, site readiness, and pre-employment requirements.

  • Ensure compliance with all employment legislation, safety regulations, and hiring standards relevant to the mining industry.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of recruitment experience, with a strong focus on the mining, natural resources, or heavy industrial sectors.

  • Proven success recruiting for hard-to-fill, technical, and remote site-based roles. Must have experience dealing with relocation of candidates.

  • Strong understanding of full-cycle recruitment and workforce planning in operational environments.

  • Experience using ATS platforms, sourcing tools, and social media recruiting strategies.

  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with operations leaders, union environments (if applicable), and external talent networks.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple requisitions in a fast-paced environment.

  • Analytical mindset with experience leveraging recruitment data and market insights.
