Job Title: Development Product Owner (DPO) w/ AML

Contract Length: 8+ Month contract

REMOTE WORK

Location: San Antonio, TX 78288

Pay: 75-80 per hr on W2


We are seeking an experienced Development Product Owner (DPO) with deep AML (Anti-Money Laundering) expertise to join our agile Scrum team. This role will be pivotal in bridging business requirements with technology solutions, ensuring that our AML transaction monitoring systems and related software products deliver maximum value. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working at the Scrum Team level, possess technical acumen, and be comfortable making timely business validations in high-pressure environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Product Owner at the Scrum Team level, decomposing complex features into actionable user stories and tasks within Jira.
  • Collaborate with technical leads and developers to define validation criteria and ensure completion within an 18-hour window for critical business functions.
  • Conduct business validation functions on AML software, including transaction monitoring systems, APIs, and data movement processes.
  • Develop, review, and participate in test case creation, ensuring alignment with business and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as the implementor for software products, particularly those used in AML or financial crime compliance monitoring.
  • Maintain industry business acumen to guide product development in line with emerging technologies, process improvements, and regulatory expectations.
  • Participate in occasional on-call support, including late weekend evening hours, for critical system validations and issue resolution.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure software solutions meet both business and compliance objectives.
  • Provide guidance on advanced technology improvements, including automation, APIs, and data analytics capabilities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Development Product Owner in AML, financial crime, or transaction monitoring systems.
  • Proven experience working directly with Scrum Teams in an Agile environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Jira, with the ability to decompose features into a series of actionable items.
  • Hands-on experience with business validation functions in AML systems.
  • Prior MSR (Managed Service Release) experience and experience as an implementor for AML-related software products.
  • Strong industry business acumen in AML processes, transaction monitoring, and compliance workflows.
  • Familiarity with data movement, APIs, and integration technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop test cases and collaborate on validation and QA processes.
  • Comfortable with on-call responsibilities, including weekends and evening hours, when required.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to business users.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Formal Product Owner certifications (CSPO, PSPO, or equivalent).
  • Exposure to advanced technology improvements within AML software or fintech platforms.
  • Knowledge of transaction monitoring systems and associated analytics workflows.
