Description:

• We are seeking an Android Engineer with proven experience at major tech companies building Android apps serving millions of daily active users. The ideal candidate has worked in large engineering organizations (20+ Android engineers) with multiple teams. They must demonstrate proficiency with modern development practices including A/B testing, feature flagging, and data-driven decision making. This role requires someone who can work autonomously in a fast-paced environment, collaborate effectively with product managers, UX designers, data scientists, and other engineering teams, and think strategically about engineering design and scalability rather than just completing assigned tasks. Experience with high-scale consumer applications (10M+ DAU) is strongly preferred.
• Please avoid candidates who have only worked on small-scale applications or lack experience with rigorous engineering processes typical of leading tech companies at scale, regardless of years of experience claimed.
• Technical excellence is essential for this role, as you'll be working on company's one of the highest traffic pages on the platform. You should have excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate technical decisions, create comprehensive documentation, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a remote environment. You'll be expected to participate in engineering design reviews, contribute to technical discussions, and deliver high quality code.

What You’ll Do:

• Work cross-functionally with product, design, and other engineering counterparts to execute on product and business strategy and build novel products and features that our users will love.
• Contribute to the full development cycle: technical design, development, test, experimentation, analysis, and launch. You’ll be reviewing code and design docs, giving feedback on product specs and mocks.
• Participate with a team of thoughtful, fast-moving, and motivated engineers. Contribute to standards that improve developer workflows, recommend best practices, and help mentor junior engineers on the team to grow their technical expertise.

Qualifications for this role:

• Minimum 10+ years of post-internship, full-time, hands-on, professional Android development experience.
• Experienced with GraphQL, REST, HTTP, Thrift basics, and the ability to design and implement maintainable APIs is a plus.
• Experienced with distributed caching layers, and distributed large scale data storage systems.
• Strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize tasks and to deliver projects on schedule, the ability to collaborate with other Android engineers and cross functional partners such as product managers and designers.
• BS degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience.
• Entrepreneurial spirit. You are self-directed, innovative, and biased towards action in fast-paced environments. You love to build new things and thrive in ambiguity and even failure.
• Excellent communication skills. You partner effectively with teams in a fully remote environment and discuss complex topics with technical and non-technical audiences.
