Senior Mobile Developer

We're hiring a senior mobile developer to join a small, fast-moving engineering team at a growing UK cleaning services marketplace.

Tidal connects thousands of active customers with trusted cleaning providers across the UK. We have real revenue, real customers, and are actively scaling. Alongside the marketplace, we run a job management SaaS product and internal tools.

You'll work directly with the founder, owning the mobile apps that our customers and providers use every day. We have an existing web developer handling the Angular frontend, so this role is focused on mobile. This is a hands-on building role with real ownership over what you ship.

AI development tools like Claude Code, Copilot, and Cursor are core to how we work, not optional extras. We expect you to be using them already.

What you'll do

• Own and develop our mobile apps (iOS and Android) using React Native
• Build new features, screens, and user flows across customer and provider apps
• Optimise app performance, load times, and user experience
• Handle app store submissions, updates, and platform-specific requirements for iOS and Android
• Work closely with the backend developer to integrate APIs and ensure smooth data flow
• Manage push notifications, deep linking, offline storage, and other mobile-specific functionality
• Write automated tests and maintain mobile code quality
• Peer review code with the rest of the team
• Improve and maintain the existing mobile codebase
• Use AI development tools daily to move fast without sacrificing quality

What we're looking for

• 5-8 years software engineering experience with a strong mobile focus
• Strong React Native experience with apps published on both iOS and Android
• Comfortable working with RESTful APIs
• Deep understanding of mobile-specific challenges (offline storage, push notifications, deep linking, camera/location access, app store review processes)
• Experience with both iOS and Android platform requirements, testing, and deployment
• Eye for clean, intuitive UI and good user experience
• Product company background preferred over pure services/outsourcing
• Already using AI development tools in your daily workflow
• Reliable, self-directed, and able to work independently with minimal hand-holding
• Strong English communication
• Comfortable inheriting and improving an existing codebase rather than only building from scratch

Nice to have

• Marketplace or platform experience
• Experience with mapping, geolocation, or routing features in mobile apps
• Experience working remotely with a UK or European company
• Experience with booking systems, scheduling, or provider-facing apps
• Some backend capability (Node.js) for occasional full-stack work
• Experience with app analytics, crash reporting, and performance monitoring tools

Working hours

Remote from anywhere in India. Minimum 5 hours overlap with UK time (core hours: 3:30 PM to 8:30 PM IST).

2. Paid technical task (2-3 hours, compensated ₹3,000). A small real-world problem similar to what you'd work on at Tidal. We respect your time and pay for it regardless of outcome.
3. Offer conversation.
