Overview
GovCIO is currently hiring for a Network Engineer / Administrator with strong experience in Cisco Networks and General System Administration, and other Microsoft 365 products. The team member will perform general operational, maintenance, and engineering activities for the OIG network solutions hosted in the EPA OIG’s environment. Quality, efficiency, cost effectiveness, and optimal utilization of resources are areas of paramount importance. The team member will have a background and expertise on Cisco network solutions and general Windows Systems Administration. This position is fully remote and based out of Research Triangle Park, NC. The team member may be required to work on site for up to 3 days at a time per month with 3 business days notice. This is a remote position, though on-site work is required as needed with sufficient notice.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement new on-premise and cloud network solutions
- Install, configure, and support network equipment to include routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, switches, and hyperconverged systems.
- Configuring firewalls, routing, and switching to maximize network efficiency and security. Ensure all network solutions meet Federal and EPA mandates.
- Physically install network hardware and connect network cables
- Maximize network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting. Provide executive level reports to key OIG stakeholders.
- Ensure the failover network is secure and can maintain a 99.9% uptime.
- Update network equipment to the latest firmware releases
- Design, implement, and support a Platform Management Interface (IPMI) solution and Lights-Out Management (LOM) solution
- On at least a monthly basis or as needed to test, deploy fixes, release new versions, and to meet target deadlines, work outside of normal business hours or at alternate work location may be required.
- Collaborate with IT Security, Infrastructure, and Business teams to ensure solutions meet organizational and compliance standards (e.g., FedRAMP, NIST).

High School with 10+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Strong documentation skills: ability to create solution design documents, technical architecture diagrams, and end-user guides.

Posted Salary Range: USD $140,000.00 - USD $150,000.00 /Yr.
