The role sits across 1st and 2nd line support, giving you exposure to network troubleshooting, maintenance, and change activity across a live production environment.

It’s ideal for someone at CCNA or JNCIA level who wants to build deeper experience in networking, with the chance to work on protocols like BGP and OSPF in a supportive setup.

Crucially, there is no mandatory on-call, making this a strong option for engineers who want to develop technically without being constantly pulled into out-of-hours work.

Responsibilities:

• Provide 1st and 2nd line network support across enterprise environments.

• Troubleshoot issues across routing, switching, and connectivity.

• Support and maintain networks using BGP and OSPF routing protocols.

• Implement network changes and assist with maintenance activities.

• Monitor network performance and respond to incidents.

• Escalate complex issues where required.

• Maintain accurate documentation and ticket updates.

Technical Environment:

• Routing & Switching (BGP, OSPF)

• Enterprise network environments

• Optional exposure to firewalls and VoIP systems

Skills / Must Have:

• Experience in a network support role (1st or 2nd line).

• Solid understanding of routing and switching fundamentals.

• Exposure to or knowledge of BGP and OSPF.

• CCNA or JNCIA level (certified or working towards).

• Strong troubleshooting mindset and willingness to learn.

Nice to Have:

• Firewall experience.

• VoIP knowledge or exposure.

• Experience working in MSP or service provider environments.

Location & Working Pattern:

• Fully remote role (UK-based)

Benefits:

• No mandatory on-call (optional once settled).

• Strong exposure to real networking technologies.

• Supportive environment for learning and development.

• Opportunity to progress into more advanced network roles.

Salary:

• £35,000 per annum

Employer:

A leading UK-based network and communications provider delivering connectivity, cloud, and managed network services to enterprise and public sector customers, with a strong focus on network infrastructure and service quality.
