This is a high-impact technical role responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and scalability of mission-critical database systems across cloud and on-premise environments. You will play a key role in supporting a large-scale digital transformation by designing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise database architectures. Working closely with engineering, architecture, and operations teams, you will manage the full database lifecycle while driving automation, reliability, and performance improvements. The role involves deep hands-on work with Oracle and related technologies, including complex enterprise environments such as Oracle EBS. You will act as a subject matter expert, supporting troubleshooting, tuning, and system optimization across multiple tiers. This position is ideal for a senior DBA who thrives in fast-paced, always-on environments and enjoys solving complex infrastructure challenges.
Accountabilities
- Manage the full database lifecycle, including installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, backups, cloning, and recovery across enterprise systems.
- Support and maintain mission-critical Oracle and related database environments in 24x7 production settings.
- Install, configure, and manage Oracle EBS environments, including database and application tiers.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues across database and application layers in real time.
- Perform performance tuning, SQL optimization, and system diagnostics to ensure high availability and efficiency.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to define database structures, standards, and best practices.
- Review DDL and application code to ensure database integrity, performance, and compliance.
- Implement automation solutions for database deployment using tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, or similar technologies.
- Work closely with L1/L2/L3 support teams to proactively identify and resolve system issues.
- Participate in on-call rotations to ensure continuous system reliability and uptime.
- Contribute to process improvements, database design evolution, and operational excellence initiatives.

- 7+ years of hands-on Oracle database administration experience in a mission-critical, 24x7 environment.
- Strong experience managing full database lifecycle operations including upgrades, patching, backups, and recovery.
- Proven experience with Oracle EBS environments, including installation, patching, and performance tuning.
- Solid understanding of Unix/Linux operating systems.
- Experience with automated deployment tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, or similar CI/CD systems.
- Strong SQL skills with ability to profile, optimize, and troubleshoot complex queries.
- Familiarity with ETL processes, data modeling, and enterprise data architecture concepts.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and familiarity with ITIL principles.
- Exposure to software development languages such as Java, Node.js, TypeScript, Go, or similar.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to work independently under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and operational teams.
- Preferred: AWS experience, MySQL knowledge, data warehousing concepts, and ERD design experience.
