Senior UX Visual Designer

UX Visual Designer / 6-9 month freelance contract / Remote - US

(Location: MTV/ SEA/ NYC/ US-REMOTE and requiring 40 hours per week)

YunoJuno has partnered with one of the biggest technology companies in the world to secure a Senior UX Visual Designer for an upcoming freelance project.

Business Justification:

We require a dedicated Visual Designer to bridge the gap between frontier AI innovation and executive-level storytelling. As we scale our influence, the complexity of our work requires a specialist who can translate technical innovations into persuasive, high-fidelity strategic communications. At this level, the quality of visual storytelling is a direct proxy for the perceived value of the innovation. This role ensures our "strategic framing" is immaculate, increasing the success rate of project approvals.

Job Description:

You’ll work alongside UX designers, Creative Technologists, and Researchers working on frontier AI products and research innovations, to design and develop our internal stakeholder communications. As a Visual Designer, you will execute creative design tasks within the scope of a broader project under general guidance from a manager, team lead, or senior designers. You address (written) communication and strategic framing challenges (multi-media based presentations) and recommend high quality visual design solutions that elevate the work of the business through amazing storytelling. You accomplish work by utilising a foundational knowledge of visual design principles, information design best practices, great storytelling, typography and immaculate design. You can work within defined guidelines, or create new ones where they don’t exist. You make design decisions that increase the overall appeal of the teams work through relevant aesthetic choices and appropriate application of the business and product brand styling.

Responsibilities:

• Help articulate and communicate our design approach to users, designers, stakeholders or partners (e.g., product manager).

• Identify innovative communication design solutions to user, product, and business problems. Respond to evolving strategic design constraints.
• Create design assets (e.g., design templates, mock-ups, videos, GIFs, or schematics) for the team to leverage consistently.
• Contribute to the teams design system, and design language
• Create design concepts (e.g., mock-ups, prototypes, models) to express ideas for user research/testing in collaboration with UX researchers.
• Identify design solutions based on user insights, business needs, and industry trends that help achieve business objectives.
• Iteratively improve design based on partner/stakeholder input with some guidance.
• Complete prioritized design work across projects and communicate priorities with team members. Collaborate with partners to prioritize UX design opportunities.
• Apply essential design principles, patterns, and systems, use design tools and processes to help develop mock-ups or prototypes. Identify product or platform requirements. Follow well-defined design templates, style guides, and accessibility guidelines.
• Create multimedia assets (e.g., graphic design, video) with some guidance from manager or senior team members.

Minimum Qualifications:

3-5 years experience in graphic design, editorial, and or content creation design

Must be self-motivated to prioritize and manage workload and meet critical project milestones and deadlines.

Proven experience utilising AI

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Excellent organization (information design / storytelling) and presentation design skills (slide decks)

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build good working relationships.

Excellent in Aesthetic sensibility

Developing problem-solving skills.

Developing proficiency in Product design (Knowledge)

Developing proficiency in Craftsmanship (motion, animation, video)

Preferred Qualifications:

Arts degree or agency/design studio experience

Start date: ASAP

Duration: 6-9 months

Location: Fully remote within the US (Ideally MTV/ SEA/ NYC)
