Acting as a key technical authority, you will define standards, reference models, and strategic roadmaps that strengthen organizational security posture. The position involves close collaboration with technical leaders, stakeholders, and government partners to ensure alignment with evolving cybersecurity requirements. You will play a central role in identifying risks, closing security gaps, and enabling secure system modernization at scale. This is a fully remote role requiring strong autonomy, precision, and deep architectural expertise.

  • Lead Zero Trust architecture design efforts, driving least privilege access controls and automated security enforcement
  • Assess and evaluate existing and proposed system architectures to identify risks, gaps, and security impacts
  • Define and document security and privacy requirements, including data protection needs and handling of sensitive information
  • Support acquisition and procurement processes by translating security requirements into technical specifications and statements of work
  • Conduct security architecture reviews, risk assessments, and compliance alignment activities (including RMF support)
  • Develop technical deliverables such as roadmaps, white papers, diagrams, and architecture risk analyses
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate operational needs into secure design patterns and enterprise solutions
  • Maintain and update architecture documentation across the system lifecycle to ensure compliance and audit readiness

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience designing security architectures aligned with NIST frameworks and federal cybersecurity standards
  • 2+ years of experience designing and implementing Zero Trust architectures across cloud and hybrid environments
  • Strong expertise in cloud security architecture, particularly within Microsoft Azure and related security services
  • Deep knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 Rev. 5 and other applicable NIST publications
  • Experience working with government security mandates, CISA directives, and regulated environments
  • Proven ability to define system security boundaries, categorize systems, and analyze security requirements
  • Strong background in conducting architecture reviews, risk analysis, and security posture assessments
  • Experience producing detailed technical documentation, diagrams, reports, and executive-level presentations
  • Ability to translate business and operational needs into secure technical designs and requirements
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Relevant security certifications preferred (e.g., CISSP, CCSP, CASP, CEH, GIAC certifications)

Benefits

  • Fully remote work within the United States
  • Competitive compensation aligned with experience and expertise
  • Opportunity to work on high-impact, mission-critical cybersecurity programs
  • Exposure to advanced security architecture, Zero Trust frameworks, and enterprise-scale systems
  • Professional development and certification support opportunities
  • Collaborative environment working with senior technical and government stakeholders
  • Stable, long-term engagement in a regulated and security-focused domain
  • Inclusive and supportive team culture focused on expertise and continuous improvement
