We are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer who has built foundational systems at 10xโ100x the scale or complexity of a standard backend, and is ready to design low-latency infrastructure for large-scale simulation workloads. Experience building distributed systems, data pipelines, or compute-heavy platforms from the ground up is strongly preferred. Experience in an early-stage or fast-growth engineering team is a major plus.
Aurora helps top engineers discover opportunities at some of the most ambitious startups worldwide.
We work closely with companies to identify exceptional talent and match them with roles where they can have real impact.
We are currently helping Aaru expand their engineering team.
Aaru operates at the bleeding edge of predictive intelligence, using AI to simulate and predict human behavior at scale. By generating and deploying instances of artificial intelligence that mirror humans, called agents, Aaru simulates entire populations with unprecedented accuracy. Our partners work with us for many reasons: they leverage Aaru to refine strategy in volatile geopolitical climates, cut new product innovation timelines from months to minutes, and deploy marketing campaigns that win in an era where consumers have never been harder to understand. We provide organizations with invaluable foresight, empowering them to anticipate outcomes and proactively make the right decisions at the right time, every time.
As an Infrastructure engineer, youโll be responsible for scaling computational needs for Aaru and its customers. The Infrastructure team owns scalability and continuous improvement of all systems across the company, ensuring the rate of decision-making by Aaru and our customers exponentially increases.

We work within a large monorepo, aptly named aaru. This repository houses our internal platform, utility tools (e.g., our data search engine and LLM-management services), and simulation platform. Engineers collaborate across the stack and have opportunities to work with Research, Product & Design, and customer engagements. We use standard tooling such as GitHub, Linear, Sentry, and Incident.io. Our codebase is primarily Python and TypeScript, with Rust for performance sensitive areas. Proficiency in all three languages is not required to be a productive team member.
This role is based in New York City. Aaru is an in-person company and during this exciting period of hypergrowth, we work 6 days a week in office. Candidates are expected to be located within the New York City metropolitan area or open to relocation.
At Aaru, we take care of our people. In addition to a competitive base salary and equity participation, we offer comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, visa sponsorship and relocation support, and various other benefits and perks.
We're a small, dedicated, mission-driven team and we intend to stay that way. We believe the best work happens when exceptionally talented people are given ownership, trust and the space to operate without bureaucratic friction. We work with urgency and intellectual honesty and expect new team members to match our velocity. We seek individuals who thrive at the frontier, who push beyond conventional limits, who bring curiosity and conviction in equal measure, and who want their work to have demonstrable impact in the world. If you're energized by the idea of a small team doing things that feel impossible, letโs build together.
