About The Role
We are seeking a skilled Mid-Level Mobile Software Development Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this hands-on, contract position, you will be responsible for implementing and delivering high-quality, customer-facing mobile experiences using React Native. Embedded within our Mobile Experience pod, you will collaborate closely with full-time engineers, product managers, and designers to develop features that enhance the user journey for both owner and driver applications. Your role will involve translating requirements into robust, scalable code while adhering to defined architecture patterns. You will contribute to various aspects of our mobile surfaces, including reservation-to-order flows, vehicle configuration, over-the-air updates, diagnostics, and ownership features. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative mobile solutions that impact real-world users, all within a flexible remote environment.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 4 years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 2 years dedicated to building production mobile applications in React Native. A strong proficiency in TypeScript and React Native is essential, as these form the core of our development environment. Candidates should have demonstrated experience working within established codebases and architectures, ensuring high-quality, maintainable, and reliable code. Familiarity with the full software development lifecycle—including version control, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and testing—is required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary, especially given the remote, asynchronous nature of our work environment. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent practical background is preferred. Nice-to-have skills include experience with Expo or managed React Native workflows, mobile observability tools such as Datadog or Sentry, contributions to mobile CI/CD pipelines, and familiarity with connected vehicle or IoT mobile experiences.
