Senior Freelance DevOps Engineer (Remote - Spain/Portugal)

At Huxley, we are partnering with an international client to hire a Senior DevOps Engineer with a strong hands‑on background in cloud platforms, observability, and infrastructure‑as‑code.
This is a high‑impact freelance collaboration for professionals who take ownership, solve problems proactively, and enjoy building reliable and scalable platforms.

Important: Experience with New Relic is mandatory. Candidates without proven New Relic experience will not be considered.

1. 8+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role
2. Strong, proven experience working with New Relic (observability, monitoring, dashboards, alerting, governance)
3. Solid experience with Azure Cloud (resource management, networking, IAM, governance, cost control)
4. Advanced knowledge of Terraform
5. Advanced experience with GitHub and GitHub Actions
6. Fluent English (international environment)
7. Availability to collaborate as a Freelancer / B2B
8. Based in Spain or Portugal (100% remote)

• Experience migrating observability platforms (ideally Splunk to New Relic)
• Experience contributing to cloud governance frameworks
• Previous experience working closely with multiple engineering teams
• Strong ownership, autonomy, and problem‑solving mindset
  
  

• Lead the migration of monitoring systems from Splunk to New Relic
• Design and implement New Relic governance foundations
• Define ways of working for observability and monitoring
• Support engineering teams in onboarding services into New Relic
• Automate observability configurations using Terraform, integrated into GitHub‑based CI/CD
