Job Description

IntaPeople are currently representing a client based in South Wales who due to a substantial amount of growth now require 2 additional Infrastructure / Platform Engineers join their core production team. This role is about shaping how their platforms scale, ensuring resilience, and embedding DevOps principles long term across the business using tools of Terraform/Ansible frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and infrastructure design.

The Infrastructure / Platform Engineer will be responsible for running their largest systems within their industry in the UK and having recently launched in the USA, they now are building within this resource area. Their an on-premise first business of which 99% of their workload-intensive applications run on Proxmox which requires robust on-prem operations with hybrid cloud integrations.

The group currently operates across UK and US credit broking, credit information SaaS, performance marketing, and proprietary algorithmic trading with regulated lending and property management launching in 2026 and 2027. All infrastructure is owned, built, and operated by them.

Resilience: Disaster recovery, backups, and replication across multiple data layers are constant priorities.

Extreme velocity: They push code to production up to 4 times per day, running fast and breaking things, but aiming to remain online as much as possible. This is a challenging environment but one that will give engineers somewhere to grow and thrive!

We are looking for:

  • At least 2-3+ years experience within platform/devops/infrastructure for the junior-mid level role
  • At least 4-5+ years experience within platform/devops/infrastructure for the Mid level role
  • Strong virtual environment skills
  • Strong experience with Proxmox or VMware/vSphere/ESXi or similar
  • Experience with Servers – Linux etc
  • Experience with 'bare metal infrastructure'
  • Strong experience with databases such as MySQL
  • Networking infrastructure experience - covering physical layer design, switch and firewall deployment, VLAN, and integration with the wider WAN
  • Experience working at data centres would be desirable
  • Some experience with CI/CD pipelines, Terraform and Ansible would be desirable
  • Senior Engineers who have the ability to take the lead on projects or mentor juniors when needed

The core platform team between them covers platform trading core hours across two time zones — UK: 07:00–16:00 and USA: 11:00–22:00. As well as providing out-of-hours emergency support on a rota basis set between the team.

This organisation is a self-funded, profitable business that has set strong growth plans for 2026. They are investing heavily within their own software and infrastructure platforms. This is an excellent time to join the team right now as you will play a pivotal role in shaping how that growth is supported.

The IT Director has described the environment as fast paced, but highly rewarding. They push code multiple times a day as things move quickly.
