Job Description


1. About Our Client:

The organization supports the U.S. Air Force Cloud One Architecture and Common Shared Services contract. It operates within the cloud computing and defense technology sector, addressing the challenge of maintaining system resiliency, security, and cost effectiveness in a global-scale multi-cloud environment. The organization manages complex cloud infrastructures across AWS, Azure, GCP, and Oracle Clouds to support critical USAF missions.



2. About the Opportunity:

The DevOps Engineer role is responsible for modernizing and maintaining a multi-cloud environment to ensure system resiliency and security for the U.S. Air Force. This position directly supports critical mission capabilities by managing cloud infrastructure, automating deployments, and ensuring compliance with security standards. The role is fully remote and contributes to operational excellence and system reliability at scale.



3. Responsibilities:

• Manage, troubleshoot, and maintain AWS, Azure, GCP, and Oracle cloud infrastructures

• Develop and deploy infrastructure as code using Terraform

• Manage source control and code reviews using GitLab or similar platforms

• Design, implement, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines

• Perform Linux system administration and server management

• Apply security hardening practices and ensure STIG compliance

• Conduct backup and recovery operations and support disaster recovery

• Perform basic ServiceNow administration and support platform operations

• Diagnose and resolve technical issues across infrastructure and applications

• Support production systems with strong problem-solving skills



4. Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or Master’s degree with 6+ years; additional experience may substitute for degree

• Interim Secret clearance required at start; ability to obtain and maintain Secret clearance required

• U.S. citizenship required

• Experience with AWS core services and networking concepts

• Proficiency with Terraform, Git workflows, and CI/CD pipeline automation

• Linux system administration experience

• Knowledge of security hardening practices and STIG compliance

• Familiarity with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery principles

• Basic ServiceNow platform administration skills



Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with USAF Cloud One or Platform 1

• ITIL Certification



5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
