DevOps Engineer (Mid-Level) – £50,000–£75,000 | Remote (UK)
Are you a developer who’s transitioned into DevOps and enjoys making engineering teams work better? We’re looking for a mid-level DevOps Engineer to join a forward‑thinking fintech company and help shape the developer experience from the ground up.
The Role
You’ll work closely with our Staff Engineer to execute on a broad and exciting DevOps roadmap. This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role where you’ll see the results of your efforts directly improve how the engineering team operates day to day.
There’s potential to form a small platform team alongside the Staff Engineer, with real ownership over infrastructure and developer tooling.
What You’ll Be Working On
- CI/CD pipeline optimisation: reviewing, monitoring, and improving GitHub Actions pipeline performance and reliability
- GitHub Actions cost reduction: identifying and eliminating wasteful pipeline runs
- Infrastructure management: working within a fully Terraform‑based AWS serverless environment
- Cost optimisation: reducing AWS infrastructure spend across Lambda, ALBs, and SQS
- Security services: building and improving infrastructure services to meet security requirements
- Monitoring & observability: building out Grafana dashboards, refining Sentry alerting, and improving visibility across infrastructure
- Vercel account consolidation: migrating from two Vercel accounts into one
- Preview environments: maintaining and improving per‑PR Lambda environments with automatic teardown
- Developer experience: making it faster and easier for engineers to ship code
- AI integration: exploring how AI can enhance monitoring, scaling, and observability, with the potential to help build a self‑hosted AI solution for internal use with customer data
