Our client, an international grocery store is hiring for an IT Platform Engineer (Linux/AIX). This is an initial 1-year contract position fully remote.
This role is focused on supporting and engineering enterprise infrastructure environments, with a strong emphasis on Linux systems, automation, and performance optimization within a production setting.

Responsibilities
- Administer and support Linux environments (RHEL, SUSE), including patching, upgrades, and system hardening
- Automate provisioning, configuration, and patching using tools like Ansible and Red Hat Satellite
- Manage virtualized environments (VMware, Nutanix, Hyper-V) and enterprise storage systems
- Oversee core infrastructure services including DNS, DHCP, backups (TSM, Rubrik), and monitoring tools (Nagios, Datadog)
- Maintain system security posture using EDR tools and ensure compliance with internal standards
- Support database environments including Oracle, PostgreSQL, DB2, and MySQL
- Troubleshoot system, network, and performance issues across infrastructure (TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, VLANs)
- Develop and maintain scripts (Bash, Python) to automate operational tasks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams using tools like GitHub and JIRA

Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in Linux system administration (RHEL/SUSE required)
- Strong hands-on experience with Ansible, Red Hat Satellite, and automation tools
- Experience with virtualization platforms and enterprise storage environments
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing, firewalls)
- Experience with monitoring, backup, and security tools (EDR)
- Scripting experience in Bash and/or Python
- Familiarity with database platforms (Oracle, DB2, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
- Experience working in production environments with strong troubleshooting skills
