Senior QA Automation Engineer

Location: Remote (US Company Platphorm https://www.platphormcorp.com/)

Working Hours: Must maintain at least 4 hours of daily overlap with Pacific Time (PST) (usually from 9PM-1AM Hanoi time)

Compensation: Competitive salary commensurate with experience

About the Role

We are seeking a QA Automation Engineer to join a small, high-performing engineering team responsible for the technical strategy and execution of our core revenue-generating products.

Our team consists exclusively of senior engineers who value pragmatic decision-making, engineering rigor, and established best practices. We operate in a collaborative, process-driven environment supported by dedicated Product and DevOps teams.

This role is fully remote; however, due to team collaboration requirements, candidates must be available for a minimum of 4 working hours overlapping with US Pacific Time (PST) on a daily basis.

Your Impact

As a QA Automation Engineer, you will:

• Architect, build, and maintain a scalable automated testing framework for web and mobile applications
• Develop and execute manual and exploratory tests within sprint cycles
• Design and implement test strategies covering frontend, backend, and API layers

• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable, fast feedback loops
• Define and enforce quality gates for production readiness
• Advocate for testability, observability, and user-centric quality during feature planning
• Identify risks, performance bottlenecks, and regressions early in the development cycle
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, and DevOps teams in an agile environment
• Contribute to QA best practices and continuous improvement initiatives

AI in Testing – Expectations

• Leverage AI-assisted tools to accelerate E2E test generation and maintenance
• Use LLMs to derive test scenarios from user stories and product specifications
• Apply AI-driven debugging or failure analysis to reduce flakiness and investigation time
• Use AI to improve test data generation, mocks, and edge-case discovery

Required Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience designing and implementing automated tests for frontend and backend systems

• Proven expertise with modern automation frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, or similar tools
• Experience working with CI/CD environments (e.g., Jenkins or comparable systems)
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and API testing methodologies
• Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript
• Experience with Ruby on Rails is a plus
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills
• Experience working in distributed or fully remote teams is preferred
