Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled Embedded Engineer to join our AI Software and Drivers & OS team in Florence.

This role focuses on diagnosing and resolving advanced technical issues identified through current product analysis as well as supporting new and ongoing AIPU products released throughout the year.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop new product features for our AIPU product lines working together in the team with the other senior engineers
  • Serve as escalation support for complex incidents involving AI software, drivers, and operating system components.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to our AIPU products, including new releases, firmware updates, and feature rollouts.
  • Analyze system data, logs, and user reports to identify underlying root causes.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to validate defects, propose fixes, and support resolution planning.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, resolutions, and known issues.
  • Provide expert feedback to improve knowledge bases, standard operating procedures, and support workflows.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts based on current system analysis and customer feedback trends.
  • Assist in testing and validating patches, software updates, and new feature implementations.
  • Communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • This position is open both to entry-level engineers with interesting personal portofolios of academic or hobby projects as well as engineers with 2-5 years of experience
  • Strong understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux, real-time operating systems etc.) and driver-level troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with AI-related software components or embedded systems preferred.
  • Experience analyzing logs, debugging, and using support diagnostic tools.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, QA, and product teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and customer-focused mindset.
  • English proficiency

Location

We offer a flexible working arrangement, with options to:

  • Work from one of our Axelera AI offices (Leuven in Belgium, Amsterdam and Eindhoven in the Netherlands, Zurich in Switzerland, Florence and Milan in Italy or Bristol in the United Kingdom) if you're already based in the vicinity.
  • Work fully remotely from any European country (incl. the UK) you are already in.
  • Relocate with us and work from Italy (Florence or Milan) or the Netherlands (Amsterdam or Eindhoven).

Kindly note that priority will be given to candidates who are [interested in being] based in Belgium or Italy.
