About KRNL (OpenBox AI)
KRNL is building foundational infrastructure for next-generation AI systems. OpenBox is the unified trust platform for agentic AI. We give enterprises runtime governance, cryptographic verification, and accountability for autonomous AI systems — turning opaque model behavior into execution that is observable, governed, and provable.
We integrate into existing stacks with a single SDK and zero architectural changes, so teams can ship trustworthy AI in minutes rather than quarters. Our work sits at the intersection of applied cryptography, AI safety, and enterprise infrastructure, and it’s shaping how the next generation of autonomous systems gets deployed in regulated industries.
The Role
We’re hiring several Senior Full-Stack AI Engineers who are equal parts builder and researcher. You’ll ship production systems and conduct the original research that defines what those systems should become. This role exists because the agentic AI landscape is moving faster than any single playbook can keep up with — and we need people who can read a paper on Monday, prototype it on Wednesday, and harden it for enterprise customers by the end of the sprint.
This is not a narrowly scoped engineering role, and it’s not a pure research role. It’s a seat at the table where research depth directly shapes the product.
What You’ll Do
- Design, build, and operate full-stack AI systems end-to-end — from research prototype through production deployment
- Conduct original technical research in areas like agent architectures, model behavior, verification, provenance, runtime attestation, and multi-agent coordination
- Translate research findings into scalable platform capabilities that enterprise customers can rely on
- Partner with technical leadership to shape OpenBox’s research agenda and product roadmap
- Own hard problems from framing through implementation and validation — including the ambiguous ones where the spec doesn’t exist yet
- Contribute to internal research artifacts, technical documentation, and long-term architectural decisions
- Hold a high bar for performance, security, and reliability at scale
