IT Manager - 3PL and Warehouse Operations

A top client of ours out of Indianapolis is looking to add a Systems IT Manager to lead the design, implementation, and support of technology systems across their 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) and warehouse operations. This role will be responsible for ensuring seamless integration between warehouse management systems (WMS), enterprise platforms, and data solutions—including Azure Synapse—to drive operational efficiency and scalability.

This role is CONTRACT and FULLY REMOTE....No C2C

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the administration, optimization, and support of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) within a 3PL environment
• Oversee system integrations between WMS, ERP, TMS, and other supply chain platforms
• Manage and enhance data infrastructure using Azure Synapse Analytics for reporting, analytics, and decision-making
• Collaborate with operations teams to identify system improvements and automation opportunities
• Ensure high system availability, performance, and security across all IT systems
• Lead IT projects including system upgrades, migrations, and new implementations
• Manage vendor relationships and coordinate with third-party technology providers
• Develop and enforce IT policies, procedures, and best practices

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
• 5–8+ years of experience in IT systems management, preferably in 3PL or warehouse operations
• Strong experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) (e.g., Manhattan, Blue Yonder, SAP EWM, or similar)
• Hands-on experience with Azure Synapse Analytics and modern data platforms
• Experience integrating systems via APIs, EDI, or middleware solutions
• Solid understanding of supply chain and logistics workflows
• Proven leadership and team management experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.)
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (Azure preferred)
• Familiarity with Power BI or other BI/reporting tools
• Experience in high-volume distribution or eCommerce fulfillment environments
