Key Responsibilities
Responsible for the development and implementation of the Health, Safety, and Environmental (EH&S) programs and policies.
Develop, implement, and maintain plant rules, policies, and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy working environment.
Implement and maintain EH&S policies and standards developed by Corporate EH&S and other groups.
Responsible for assuring the plant’s compliance with all State, Local, and Federal EH&S regulations including OSHA, EPA, DOT, DHS.
Responsible for preparation and timely submittal of all EH&S monitoring and reporting required by environmental permits (Waste, Water, Air, Aboveground Storage Tanks, etc.) and EH&S regulations.
Work closely with employees to provide personnel training and monitor results for EH&S management issues.
Prepare and lead monthly site safety meetings with all shifts.
Lead incident investigations, including determination of root causes and development of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Provide support to the Plant Manager in the identification and completion of capital projects.
Work with contractors to ensure safety on site during projects.
Provide oversight and support, where required, on aspects of Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Program (RMP).
Lead local hourly recruitment activities with assistance from corporate HR.
Assist in regards to HR related questions and issues such as New Hire Orientation, employee random drug testing, participation in the Advisory Panel, etc.

Job Description


Our well-established client is looking for an EHS Manager at their manufacturing facility. This leadership role will collaborate with all levels of the facility to drive EHS excellence. The ideal candidate would have experience in chemicals, pulp & paper, plastics or heavy industrial along with PSM experience in a manufacturing setting. The role will manage all health and safety programs with oversight of environmental compliance for air, hazardous waste and wastewater reporting. This is a boots on the ground role for a passionate EHS professional who thrives working across all levels of the organization. Relocation offered.

EH&S Manager Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for preparation and timely submittal of all EH&S monitoring and reporting required by environmental permits (Waste, Water, Air, Aboveground Storage Tanks, etc.) and EH&S regulations.

  • Provide oversight and support, where required, on aspects of Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Program (RMP). This will include but not be limited to: Hot Work, Contractor Management, Incident Investigation, Training, Auditing, Emergency Response Drills, and review and documentation of Management of Change.
  • Lead local hourly recruitment activities with assistance from corporate HR.
  • Assist in regards to HR related questions and issues such as New Hire Orientation, employee random drug testing, participation in the Advisory Panel, etc.

Salary

$120,000 - $135,000

EHS Manager Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in EH&S / Engineering or related field.
  • 3-8+ years’ experience in environmental, health, safety, and industrial hygiene.
  • Experience in Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Program (RMP).
  • Air Permitting, Storm Water, SPCC, NPDES, Hot Work Permit, LOTO, Confined Space Program, and PSM experience however, we will consider candidates who do not have experience in all of these topics specifically.
  • Detail oriented and ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Microsoft Office including advanced Excel skills.
  • Must have floor supervisor mentality.
  • Must be able to maintain collaborative working relationships with plant staff, production supervisors, operators and maintenance personnel, and the community.
  • Travel less than 5%; must be available to respond to incidents and/or provide coverage after hours, as required.

  • Previous Chemical Manufacturing experience

  • WV aboveground Storage Tank regulations
