Job Description
About Bespoke Labs
At Bespoke Labs.AI, we’re building immersive digital worlds where intelligent agents learn, reason, and evolve. We design large-scale AI environments and production-grade systems that directly shape how next-generation models are trained, not tooling around AI, but the systems that power it. Our work has driven foundational datasets like OpenThoughts and state-of-the-art models such as Bespoke-MiniCheck and Bespoke-MiniChart.
Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on Electrical Engineer with a strong foundation in hardware, chip design, or embedded systems who can also write clean, efficient Python code. This is not a software engineering role — you will be expected to deeply understand the physical systems you are modeling and the hardware you are interfacing with. Python here is a means to an end: automating test benches, processing measurement data, and building calibration routines rooted in real electrical engineering judgment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, characterize, and validate analog/mixed-signal, RF, or power electronic systems and translate hardware behavior into measurement and calibration workflows
- Write Python scripts and tools to automate test and measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, DAQs, VNAs), process raw waveform or sensor data, and generate engineering reports
- Develop signal processing and estimation algorithms grounded in the physical behavior of the underlying hardware (e.g., noise modeling, impedance characterization, ADC linearity correction)
- Build and maintain data pipelines for time-series, waveform, or telemetry data captured from real hardware setups
- Work directly with PCB layout, FPGA/ASIC teams, or firmware engineers to debug and validate hardware-software integration at the system level
- Perform sensor calibration, characterization, and error budget analysis across temperature, voltage, and process corners
- Document test methodologies, hardware models, and calibration results to engineering standards
Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a closely related hardware discipline
- 3–6 years of hands-on experience in hardware design, chip design, embedded systems, or instrumentation engineering
- Solid understanding of analog/mixed-signal circuits, signal integrity, power electronics, or RF systems — you should be comfortable reading schematics and interpreting measurement results
- Proficiency in Python (NumPy, SciPy, Matplotlib) specifically for hardware test automation, data processing, or calibration — not general software development
- Experience with lab instrumentation and bench testing (oscilloscopes, signal generators, VNAs, logic analyzers, DAQs)
- Familiarity with embedded firmware concepts and hardware-software interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, AXI)
- Ability to build physical intuition-driven computational models rather than purely data-driven abstractions
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in chip design, ASIC validation, or FPGA-based systems (RTL familiarity a plus, not required)
- Background in mixed-signal IC characterization, ADC/DAC testing, or power management IC validation
- Familiarity with MATLAB or Simulink for system-level modeling or signal chain analysis
- Exposure to one or more of the following:
- PCB design, signal integrity analysis, or EMI/EMC testing
- RF front-end characterization, antenna measurement, or microwave systems
- MEMS sensor calibration or inertial measurement unit (IMU) testing
- Motor drives, power converters, or battery management systems
- Cryogenic or high-precision detector readout electronics

What We Are Not Looking For
This role is not suited for software engineers or data scientists looking to pivot into hardware. Candidates should have direct, hands-on experience with physical systems, test benches, or chip/board-level design — Python fluency alone will not be sufficient.
Engagement details
• Location: 100% remote, open worldwide
• Schedule: Fully async, no core hours requirement
• Compensation: $15–$25 USD per hour, depending on experience
