About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team at Jobgether. In this pivotal role, you will be at the core of our fast-scaling fintech environment, responsible for designing, building, and evolving high-performance backend systems that power modern payment solutions. You will work on complex, distributed architectures supporting white-label and SaaS platforms used across the financial ecosystem. This position combines hands-on development with architectural ownership, emphasizing scalability, security, and reliability. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate third-party services and continually enhance platform capabilities. The ideal candidate is an experienced backend engineer eager to shape mission-critical financial infrastructure in a highly technical, product-driven, and innovation-oriented environment that values engineering excellence and clean architecture.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in PHP backend development, with strong expertise in the Symfony framework.
• Deep understanding of Object-Oriented Programming principles, SOLID/GRASP, and software design patterns.
• Proven experience designing and building RESTful APIs and working with Doctrine ORM.
• Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL, including query optimization, indexing, and schema design.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerized application deployment.
• Familiarity with distributed systems, microservices architecture, and scalable backend design.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as PHPUnit, Codeception, or Behat.
• Understanding of advanced architectural concepts like CQRS, DDD, and Event Sourcing is highly desirable.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, document, deploy, and maintain scalable backend systems from scratch to meet business needs.
• Enhance and optimize existing API and backend architecture to improve system performance and reliability.
• Integrate third-party payment and fintech services, including gateways, acquirers, and verification systems.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues across both production and development environments.
• Ensure high-quality software delivery by building and maintaining automated testing environments and frameworks.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code aligned with best engineering practices.
• Collaborate with front-end engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver comprehensive end-to-end solutions.
• Contribute to system stability and provide ongoing production support to ensure seamless operation of live services.
• Participate in architectural discussions and help define scalable backend and integration strategies.
