Title: Sr. Benefits Administrator - Leave of Absence & Workers Compensation

Location: San Francisco, CA (100% REMOTE)

Duration: Initial contract will go through December 31, 2026 with potential extensions

Compensation: $40/hour - $44/hour

Sr. Benefits Administrator - Leave of Absence & Workers Compensation

As a Sr. Benefits Administrator for Leave of Absence & Workers Compensation, you will be the primary contact between our department, managers, employees, and vendors. Reporting to our Benefits Manager, you will use independent judgement and make decisions regarding workers compensation claims and settlements. In addition, you will:

  • Manage day to day benefits functions of LOA and workers Comp
  • Serves as the primary contact, subject matter expert and counsel employees and managers for leave of absence, accommodations and workers compensation claims.
  • Work closely in the administration of leave and WC programs with 3rd party vendor in accordance with the applicable federal and state employment laws (FMLA, CFRA, ADA, USERRA, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, etc.).
  • Evaluate efficiency and value of current benefit program and make recommendations for improvement. Optimize and improve the Workers comp and LOA processes.
  • Educate, coach and guide HR Business Partners, Managers, Executives, and Employees through the entire leaves and workers compensation process. This includes request, approval/denial, accommodations and returning to work.
  • Trouble shoot day to day issues between Employees, Benefits, Management, Payroll, HR Ops, LOA inbox and outside vendors as needed to resolve issues. Can handle escalated issues between all parties.
  • Review, payroll adjustment and completion of EDD paperwork as needed

We’re excited about you if you have:

  • Minimum 6-8 years in absence management in disability management and/or FMLA/CFRA administration experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively create working relationships with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work independently, research issues and make effective recommendations using critical thinking skills
  • General knowledge of Human Resource practices

Location: 100% Remote, would require working PST hours.
