Head of Machine Learning - Computer Vision

Head of Machine Learning - Computer Vision - Up to £100K+ package - 100% remote anywhere in the UK - SportTech

I’m working with a sports tech company building computer vision products used at the very top end of global sport. They are partnered with major golf tournaments, F1, NASCAR, and the biggest tennis events.

The models you work on will be seen by millions and showcased live.

This isn’t a big, bloated team. It’s lean, high bar, and properly technical. You’ll lead a small group of strong ML engineers, set the direction, and stay close enough to the work to actually ship.

What you’ll be doing:

• Leading development of production-grade computer vision models

• Setting the ML roadmap and standards

• Working closely with engineers to get models from idea → deployed → reliable in the wild

• Owning quality, performance, and real-world impact of what goes out

Tech:

• Python

• PyTorch / TensorFlow

• AWS (flexible if you’ve used other cloud)

Nice to have (not essential):

• MLOps exposure (CI/CD, Docker, pipelines)

• Experience working with video or real-time vision systems

What they’re looking for:

• You’ve taken ML models into production, not just experiments

• You’ve led or mentored engineers (small–mid sized teams)

• You don’t need the “Head of” title already you could be a Lead, Principal, EM for e.g.

• Computer vision experience is a strong plus

It’s one of those roles where the work actually gets used at scale, not sat in a lab. Proper ownership, proper impact.
