Senior Backend Developer (AWS)

Founded in 2019, Volkswagen Digital Solutions (VWDS) plays a major role in the Volkswagen Group strategy of going digital, by developing software mainly for the digital ecosystems and internal corporate processes.

Split across 3 tech units: CODE (Core Operations + Development), MAN Digital Hub and SDC (Software Development Center), VWDS plays a key part of the digitalization strategy that is happening in the Group.

What you will be doing:

• You will be working on the interconnected CAR IT ecosystem and further develop the state-of-the-art platform to manage software exchanged between trucks & buses and backend infrastructure;
• Concept development, architectural reviews, development and operations;
• Develop/deploy/maintain automotive backend microservices based on Java or Kotlin and powered by AWS;
• Work in the context of automotive, you will use DevOps principles to create, test and deploy backend solutions as well as internal tools using modern cloud infrastructure like AWS;
• Ccontribute to tech and architecture decisions;
• Contribute with your team and other teams on all questions around backend and tool development in an automotive IoT environment;
  
  
  

What you will bring:

• Solid experience with backend development focusing on RESTful APIs, event driven architecture and integration, and testing
• Solid experience with server-side Java frameworks
• Understanding of both architecture and implementation of software solutions
• Hands-on experience with AWS services such as CloudFormation, EC2, S3, EFS, RDS, Route 53.
• Experience designing/building/maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with version control software.
• Leverage scripting to build required automation and tools on an ad-hoc basis.
• Understanding of security concepts and implementation
• Be comfortable with our general team tech stack: Java or Kotlin, Python, React, Spring.
