Job Description
We’re looking for a Lead Quality Engineer on a Fully Remote basis! The new Lead Quality Engineer will be responsible for implementing a shift left testing approach as well as working with the Lead Software Engineer to mentor engineers on unit testing, TDD and of course, the Shift Left Principles!
The business has developed an advanced risk analysis product for enabling safer and more secure travel! Their data-driven approach fuses broad-spectrum open-source data, AI technology and world-leading analysis to deliver instant situational intelligence.
This Lead Quality Engineer position will pay a starting salary up to £90,000. That salary is accompanied by a tailored Company benefits package including Company Pension, Health Care and Home Office set up costs to support the remote working. Unfortunately, VISA Sponsorship is NOT AVAILABLE and we are looking for candidates that are based living in the UK. We’re seeking a Lead Quality Engineer that has the following experience;
- Evaluate, create and lead the adoption of a framework for agentic AI testing
- Establish quality standards, principles, and engineering practices
- Continue to define and promote our non-functional quality standards (performance, security, reliability, accessibility)
- As part of the engineering excellence team, drive the embedding of quality into the SDLC (design → development → quality control → deployment → monitoring)
- Drive adoption of shift-left practices (e.g. design/TDA reviews, testability reviews, risk-based thinking early in development)
- Design and evolve the test architecture strategy (what should and should not be automated, what should be unit/integration/end-to-end)
- Ensure the engineers have production-like, reliable and anonymised test data in test environments.
- Develop and promote the use of internal tools that assist engineers with testing such as test data generators and quality checking automations
- Evaluate and introduce tooling for quality enablement (CI/CD quality gates, test frameworks, static analysis, contract testing)
- Define quality metrics and KPIs (e.g. escaped defects, change failure rate, test coverage)
- Champion engineering quality culture, promote ownership.
- Mentor and develop engineers across Product Engineering, DevOps and Data Engineering, providing them with the training, tools and promoting a quality mindset
