About The Role

We are currently seeking a skilled Data Engineer for a permanent onsite position based in Dothan, Alabama. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team, designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines that facilitate efficient data processing and integration. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating scalable ETL/ELT processes for both real-time and batch data workflows, ensuring data quality, integrity, and availability for analytical and operational purposes. This position requires a U.S. citizenship or Green Card holder, as it involves handling sensitive data and working within regulatory compliance frameworks. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting data-driven decision-making initiatives and enhancing the organization’s data infrastructure.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess over five years of professional experience in designing and implementing data integration solutions. Demonstrated expertise in developing and managing ETL/ELT pipelines, including load, extract, transform, and data ingestion processes for both batch and real-time environments, is essential. A strong understanding of data warehousing principles, data modeling techniques, and data governance frameworks is required. Proficiency with data integration tools such as Qlik, Talend, Informatica, or SSIS is highly desirable. Candidates should also have experience with SQL, Python, and developing custom data transformations. Familiarity with cloud data platforms like Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Redshift, or BigQuery, along with knowledge of BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or MicroStrategy, will be advantageous. Additionally, candidates must demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

The Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines that support the organization’s data needs. Key responsibilities include ingesting data from various sources such as SQL databases, APIs, cloud platforms, and flat files into data warehouses or lakes. The role involves monitoring and optimizing data workflows for performance, troubleshooting issues related to data loading, query execution, and pipeline failures. Developing and maintaining logical and physical data models to support business requirements is essential. The candidate will ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance with governance standards, implementing data validation and cleansing procedures. Collaborating with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand their data requirements and translate them into technical solutions is a core aspect of the role. Additionally, the Data Engineer will contribute to the development of data governance policies, metadata management, and data security protocols, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, or SOX. Mentoring junior team members and sharing knowledge within the team to foster a collaborative environment is also expected.
