Job Description
We are seeking an experienced AWS / SRE / DevOps Engineer for an urgent contract opportunity supporting a secure, high-priority programme within a regulated environment.
This role requires an immediate start (early next week) and is outside IR35. It is a hands-on engineering position focused on AWS infrastructure, automation, and reliability engineering at scale.
Key responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and optimise AWS-based infrastructure
- Analyse and remediate existing cloud environments, identifying technical debt and performance bottlenecks
- Build and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform / Ansible / CloudFormation)
- Implement AWS security best practices including IAM, least-privilege access, encryption, and compliance alignment
- Improve monitoring, logging, and alerting using modern observability tooling
- Support scalable, highly available production systems in a regulated environment

Key experience required:
- Strong AWS engineering background (VPC, IAM, ECS/EKS, Lambda, networking)
- Proven experience in Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform and/or Ansible essential)
- Solid understanding of cloud security and compliance principles
- Experience with monitoring/observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK or similar)
- Background in DevOps or SRE within enterprise or regulated environments
