The Role:

This is a deep OTEL role. Not implementing OpenTelemetry to tick a compliance box — owning it as a core product capability that the entire platform is built on top of. If you've gone beyond the docs, written custom exporters, and thought about OTEL from a product perspective, this is worth reading.

You'd be the infrastructure foundation of an early AI observability platform — the person who shapes how the product is built, not just what it runs on.

What you'd own:

• OpenTelemetry — custom exporters, deep implementation, OTEL as a product primitive
• Cloud infrastructure — AWS ownership and architectural decisions from an early stage
• Developer tooling — CI/CD, build systems, helping a tiny team punch above its weight

What they're looking for:

Must have:

• Pre-seed or early-stage startup experience — this is the #1 requirement. You've built in conditions of ambiguity, without a playbook

• Actively using agentic coding tools day-to-day
