Job Description
What We’re Building Towards
At Omegga, we're on a mission to reinvent how AI and spectroscopy can drive positive change for animals, people and the planet. We started with a clear objective: eliminate chick culling on a global scale through early, non-invasive detection. This outdated practice still impacts billions of lives, and we're here to change that. We're not building for the niche, we're building for the global standard.
Today, our systems are already in use, and the focus is on scaling performance, robustness, and deployment across an international customer base. For us, scaling means more than growth. It means changing an industry for the better.
We are looking for people who take ownership, think in systems, and want to help turn a working product into the industry benchmark. If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
What We’re Looking For
We're looking for a robotics engineer whose strength sits on the software side but who understands the full system. You're comfortable working across real-time control, cloud infrastructure, and hardware interfaces, and you take ownership of everything from bringing a robot into production to keeping it running reliably at customer sites. You thrive on solving problems across the full stack and take pride in systems that just work.
What You’ll Build
- Own and evolve our robot control system, built on Motorcortex, ensuring reliable and precise operation across customer deployments
- Develop and maintain cloud-based remote control and monitoring capabilities using AWS Greengrass, including automated alerting and diagnostics
- Remotely operate and oversee robot systems at customer sites, taking responsibility for uptime and performance
- Troubleshoot issues across the full stack, from control software to hardware interfaces, in close collaboration with the hardware team
- Advance calibration routines and sensor selection for in-hatchery egg detection
- Work with EtherCAT-based communication systems to ensure robust real-time control of actuators and sensors
- Design and implement maintenance plans and monitoring dashboards to ensure long-term system reliability
- Interface with operational data to continuously improve system performance and inform product development
