Job Description
Under limited supervision, performs one or more of the following activities on the company's internal networks: configuration management, system administration, security administration, network administration, development system implementation, production system implementation. Responds to issues related to environment, hardware, system, and/or software and implements resolution across technology areas. Supports multiple systems simultaneously and provides leadership for large project efforts. Provides support or lead activities related to change management, outage management and/or project management.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Individual responsibilities may include but are not limited to network configuration/implementation, design/implementation, automation, scripting, and technical documentation.
- Supports critical infrastructure installations from a Tier-3 perspective at Field locations.
- Identify and solve issues that affect network performance on a day-to-day basis that could have substantial impact on our customers, which can require unusual work hours.
- Maintain and troubleshoot enterprise networks that use Cisco routers and switches.
- High level troubleshooting in a large-scale network environment.
- Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval, and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.
- Participate in 24/7 Tier 3 on-call rotation to provide network support/troubleshooting.
- Available to travel for business purposes (20% travel possible).
- Extensive knowledge of LAN/WAN connectivity. Wireless knowledge is a plus.
- Understanding of Cisco command line interface to configure network equipment.
- A strong understanding of LAN and WAN technologies, Internet services, data
- communication protocols, computer operating systems, information security, and desktop applications.
- Experience in the definition, design, and implementation of wired/wireless infrastructure platforms (Cisco and Extreme Networks a plus).
- Familiar with WLAN/LAN network topologies and hardware (MPLS, DIA, Broadband, SDWAN, etc.).
- Ability to produce detailed documentation including data flow diagrams, logical diagrams and physical diagrams as needed (technical writing skills also a plus).
- Ability to understand LAN requirements that assist Engineering in the development of designs.
- Extensive knowledge of fiber optic and copper low voltage wiring infrastructure.
- Basic knowledge of network monitoring tools i.e., LiveNX, Statseeker, Splunk, etc.
- Cisco CCNA, CCNP, CCDP or equivalent is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work at various cross-functional remote FedEx environments.
- Ability to work in a team environment supporting remote team members as well as remote installations.
- Ability to lift 45lbs.

Bachelor's degree in IT-related engineering, computer science or information systems or related field.
Minimum Experience
Five (5) years work experience in engineering or information technology environment. A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirements.
Domicile Information:
This position will be domiciled in Memphis, TN, working at various FedEx locations providing onsite support as needed. This position will also provide support for remote FedEx locations. Weekly onsite work required with occasional remote workdays possible. Candidate must be able to adjust schedule accordingly.
Relocation assistance may be available based on business need.

Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors permitted by law. An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. The Company offers eligible employees health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.
Pay: Monthly Range: $6,511.62 - $8,627.89
