Job Description

Title: Network Engineer - Cloud Network Services (CNS)

Location: 100% remote

Duties

The Cloud Network Services (CNS) team is responsible for ensuring reliable, high-performance application traffic delivery to every customer around the globe. We design and operate our own cloud networking solution, blending industry-standard technologies with the power of the platform to automate and scale host configurations from customer requirements. Our team continuously monitors, tests, and optimizes the platform to deliver new features and maintain top-tier performance. As we evolve, our focus has expanded to embrace hybrid cloud strategies through deep integrations and partnerships with leading cloud providers, including Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Microsoft Azure.

What you get to do in this role:

  • Support the operation and maintenance of global cloud network infrastructure, including backbone routing, top-of-rack (TOR) switching, VPN services, and application delivery controllers (ADCs).
  • Assist with network operations across private and hybrid multi-cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, including urgent operational events.
  • Participate in the 24/7 on-call rotation as part of the Network Operations Engineering team.
  • Use automation tools (e.g., Ansible, GitLab) to help manage declarative infrastructure at scale.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as software upgrades, patching, and version control.
  • Monitor network metrics (e.g., capacity, latency, availability) and escalate concerns proactively.
  • Collaborate with SRE and other teams to improve reliability and operational processes.
  • Contribute to change management and release readiness efforts in production environments.
  • Document procedures, infrastructure details, and troubleshooting steps clearly and accurately.
  • Work closely with senior engineers on design, architecture, and new initiatives.
  • Support adoption of new tools and technologies under the guidance of more senior team members.
  • Participate in efforts to automate deployments and reduce operational toil.

Skills:

In order to qualify for and be successful in this role, you should have:

  • 2–4 years of experience in network operations, infrastructure engineering, or a related field.
  • Practical experience with load balancers (e.g., F5, NGINX), routing/switching (e.g., Juniper, Cisco), or security devices (e.g., Palo Alto, Radware). Basic understanding of network protocols and services such as TCP/IP, BGP, DNS, TLS/mTLS, and VPNs.
  • Exposure to public or hybrid cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) in a support or operational role.
  • Comfortable working in Linux environments and performing basic troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with automation and scripting tools such as Ansible, Python, or Bash.
  • Understanding of observability and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk).
  • Willingness to learn and participate in incident response and root cause analysis.
  • Interest in infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab CI/CD, Terraform).
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a strong desire to automate and improve processes.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills.
  • Willingness to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation, including weekends.
