About TDY Rentals

TDY Rentals is committed to providing military and government travelers with a superior level of comfort when on temporary duty assignments. As a virtual company, we have no warehousing or physical overhead – allowing us to provide commercial lodging anywhere in the United States and brand-new, bespoke rental furnishings tailored to each client’s personal preference. Each of our team members are military veterans, military spouses, or DoS eligible family members (EFMs). Thus, we provide subject matter expertise in federal regulations, agency-specific receipt compliance, and hold a 100% reimbursement rate for clients. Because we have experienced the good, the bad, and the ugly of temporary travel, we also provide insurance during every client’s temporary stay.

Position Overview

TDY Rentals is seeking a Business Systems & AppSheet Specialist to turn complex, real-world business processes into clean, scalable internal tools. For the first six months, this role will focus primarily on AppSheet, Google Sheets, and workflow automation. This role is expected to evolve into a broader systems, operations, data, or strategic support role based on the employee’s strengths as the company migrates processes into a broader online platform.

This is not a traditional software developer role. We are looking for someone who can rapidly (2 weeks) convert an existing complex GoogleSheets operating system into an MVP online interface. You will expand its capabilities weekly. You must be an EXPERT at AppSheets and hit the ground running.

This role offers high exposure to leadership and company strategy and is often a launchpad into other roles as TDY Rentals scales.


Key Responsibilities

  • Build and improve AppSheet applications for business operations
  • Translate workflows into structured, scalable systems
  • Maintain strong Google Sheets-based processes and data structures
  • Configure AppSheet security, authentication, and role-based views
  • Improve data quality, reporting, and operational consistency
  • Use Apps Script or lightweight automation tools where helpful
  • Document systems, support adoption, and train users as needed
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives and help shape the future of the role

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship Required
  • Must be able to pass a background check and adhere to strict data privacy protocols regarding PII (Personally Identifiable Information) for government personnel
  • Experience restructuring complex business operations into scalable AppSheet applications
  • Proven ability to set up AppSheet security, user authentication, and role-based access
  • Google Sheets Expert
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently
  • Must have a stable, high speed internet connection for remote work, ensuring reliable communication and timely responses


Preferred Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in a fast-paced environment preferred
  • Apps Script, automation, or coding experience is a plus, but not required
  • Google Cloud AppSheet Developer Specialization or equivalent Professional Certificate
  • Earned Google Cloud Skill Badges in AppSheet Automation and AppSheet Implementation
  • Completion of the "Building No-Code Apps with AppSheet" specialization on Coursera
  • Veterans, military spouses, eligible family members (EFMs), and former federal government employees, (or spouse thereof) are strongly encouraged to apply Preference will be given to candidates with direct experience with temporary duty travel
  • Experience working closely with senior leaders is preferred



Compensation & Benefits

  • $80,000-$100,000 annual salary
