Job Description


Job Title: Security Analyst - Vulnerability Management

Location: Bogota, Colombia (candidates must be based in Bogota)

Work Mode: 100% Remote

Employment Type: Independent Contractor (hourly pay, no benefits; candidate responsible for own taxes)

Contract Duration: 12 Months (with possibility of extension)

Schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST during training (later may shift to second or third shift)

Work Hours: 40 hours per week

We are seeking a detail-oriented Security Analyst to support and enhance our vulnerability management and penetration testing programs. In this role, you will work closely with internal teams and external vendors to coordinate security assessments, manage vulnerability scanning activities, and ensure timely remediation of identified risks.

You will play a key role in maintaining the organization’s security posture by analyzing vulnerabilities, prioritizing risks based on business impact, and supporting remediation efforts across infrastructure, cloud, and application environments. This position requires strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of security operations, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support penetration testing engagements, including pre-engagement scoping, logistics, and access provisioning
  • Assist in the development and refinement of penetration testing methodologies and documentation standards
  • Facilitate penetration testing engagements and coordinate with vendors for test execution and reporting
  • Review and triage penetration test findings, validate severity ratings, and support remediation efforts
  • Assist in the configuration, scheduling, and execution of vulnerability scans using security tools
  • Monitor scan results, validate findings, and escalate critical vulnerabilities to appropriate stakeholders
  • Maintain asset groupings, scan templates, authentication credentials, and scan engines
  • Support vulnerability triage and prioritization based on risk, asset criticality, and business impact
  • Track remediation efforts in coordination with IT, cloud, and application teams
  • Document and maintain vulnerability management processes, workflows, and metrics
  • Provide support during security incidents involving exploited vulnerabilities
  • Stay current on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Experience in security operations, vulnerability management, or IT support roles
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or GIAC are a plus
