About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead PHP Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in leading both internal initiatives and client-facing WordPress projects. Your expertise will drive the development of innovative plugins, themes, and features that meet high standards of security, performance, and usability. As a leader, you will mentor junior developers, promote best practices, and help cultivate a culture of self-motivation and continuous improvement. Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates should possess comprehensive PHP knowledge and proven experience working within a LAMP stack environment, including Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP. Strong familiarity with version control systems such as Git is essential. Candidates must demonstrate a solid understanding of modern PHP practices, including autoloading, dependency management, object-oriented programming, and MVC architecture. Additionally, proficiency in JavaScript, particularly ES2015+ syntax, webpack, and Babel, is required. Experience in developing WordPress plugins and themes, adhering to industry best practices, is crucial. Understanding security best practices and implementing them effectively is also vital. Bonus skills include experience with CSS preprocessors like Sass or PostCSS, responsive frameworks such as Foundation or Bulma, AWS or other cloud platforms, and familiarity with creating WordPress blocks, testing, CI/CD pipelines, and working with third-party APIs.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role include developing new features, plugins, and advanced theme components within WordPress, ensuring they are secure, efficient, and scalable. You will develop internal tools to streamline workflows and enhance productivity. Understanding and implementing security measures in line with WordPress security best practices is essential to protect client and internal data. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, estimate, and execute projects from conception through testing and deployment. Integration with third-party APIs will be a key aspect, requiring attention to performance and security considerations. As a leader, you will mentor junior developers, review code, and promote the adoption of best practices. Additionally, you will stay updated on industry trends and continuously improve development processes, including writing tests and implementing CI/CD practices to ensure high-quality deliverables.
