**Location:** Remote (US — CST, EST, or Mountain Time only. CST strongly preferred — our team is Midwest-based.)

**Compensation:** $65,000 – $90,000 DOE

About EmpowerFresh

EmpowerFresh is a SaaS startup helping grocers run smarter operations through machine learning. Our platform delivers ML-powered recommendations that help grocery chains optimize produce ordering, integrating directly with their suppliers. We're expanding into new grocer departments and onboarding more chains — and we need help building what comes next.

Behind the scenes, we run daily ETL pipelines and an expanding ML service. On the front lines, grocers use our Svelte/TypeScript/Postgres app every day to place orders, take inventory, and manage their operations.

Our team is based across the Midwest and we run a tight, focused remote-first culture.

This is the kind of role where you actually grow. You'll work directly with experienced engineers, ship features that real customers use the same week you build them, and have a clear path to take on more ownership as the company scales.

The Role

You'll specialize in the customer-facing app our grocers rely on every day — built in Svelte, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL. You'll build new features, fix bugs, expand the product into new grocer departments, and grow into a stronger engineer along the way.

What You'll Do

- Build and ship features across our Svelte + TypeScript + PostgreSQL stack

- Work across the full stack — frontend, backend, and database

- Use AI tools (like Claude) as part of your daily workflow to move faster and learn faster

- Collaborate with senior engineers who will mentor you and help you level up

- Take on increasing ownership as you grow with the company

Must-Haves

- 1–3 years of professional development experience (or a strong portfolio of personal/freelance projects)

- Working knowledge of TypeScript

- Comfortable writing PostgreSQL queries and thinking about data

- Hungry to learn, take feedback, and grow fast

- Self-directed in a remote environment

- Located in CST, EST, or Mountain Time

Nice-to-Haves

- Svelte experience (ideal — but React is fine, we'll help you ramp)

- Tailwind CSS familiarity

- Curiosity about ML, ETL pipelines, or data-heavy systems

- Background or interest in retail, grocery, or supply chain tech
