About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Splunk Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on building dashboards, optimizing searches, and supporting monitoring and reliability initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain Splunk dashboards, reports, and alerts
- Develop and optimize SPL queries for performance and usability
- Create and manage field extractions (regex, delimiter-based, calculated fields)
- Work with stakeholders to translate reporting requirements into Splunk solutions
- Build scheduled reports and alerts with appropriate thresholds and actions
- Support onboarding of new data sources (parsing, indexing, validation)
- Partner with application and infrastructure teams to improve system reliability
- Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) using logs, metrics, and events
- Maintain documentation for dashboards, reports, and searches

Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of overall IT experience
- 2โ3 years of hands-on Splunk experience (Enterprise or Cloud)
- 2โ3 years of log analysis / SRE experience
- Strong knowledge of SPL (stats, timechart, transaction, eval, rex, lookup, mv commands)
- Experience building interactive dashboards, drilldowns, and reports
- Experience with field extractions (regex, search-time, lookups)
- Understanding of indexes, sourcetypes, hosts, and search-time vs index-time concepts
- Familiarity with JSON, XML, CSV, and log formats
- Basic knowledge of Linux/Unix for log analysis
- Strong analytical and data visualization skills
